A business case is a justification for a business project. A business case requests funding for a project internally from an organization's financial decision-makers or externally from investors.
A business case compares the costs of a project with the benefits that it provides. The business case must show that the benefits outweigh the costs. In many instances, it must include a financial analysis that calculates the return on investment (ROI).
